Our Client, a leading EPC company based in Doha - Qatar, urgently needs the following position :

MATERIAL ENGINEER

Deliverables:

• Purchase Requisitions
• Material Inspection Reports
• PRQ monitoring status
• PO monitoring status
• Stock verification Reports

Responsibilities, duties and tasks:

• Overall supervision and control of stores, lay-down yards and related functions.
• Control the movement of material in warehouses, lay-down areas and other storage
•       areas at project locations.
• Adhere and implement the company quality system requirements as laid down in the quality plan and supported by the relevant project procedures, inspection & test plan.
• Maintain the documents in a systematic and professional manner and regularly update with latest status.
• Carry out initial checks on received materials for verification of items as per Purchase Order, Material Requisition or Customers Material Request Documentation.
• Check inventory and the condition of stored items at regular intervals. Maintain good housekeeping in all store areas. Issue material from stores against Material Issue Vouchers as approved by responsible engineers
• Control material issue and stock levels for specific jobs both at storage yard and site.
• Develop the minimum / maximum stock level in software and train the store personnel how to use it.
• Monitor each individual order to verify and ensure that the material conform to project/product specifications and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with client stores and arrange for collection of free issue material.
• Attend the weekly progress meetings in Doha Office and weekly project review meetings at Dukhan.
• Provide activities reports, analyses and regular updates as necessary to the management and recommend the write-off and sale of obsolete materials.
• Participate in warehousing and materials storage audits to ensure that all sensitive and special materials are kept in accordance with recommended practices.
• Coordinates with procurement section for the replenishment and procurement of stock and materials.
• Supervise the maintenance of computerized Inventory control system and the classification of all materials in stock in accordance to the existing system.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers, Paint shop and workshop for maintaining inventory levels of consumables and construction material.
•  Develop logistic plan for storage and lay-down and performs other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.
• Prepare the material reconciliation reports for each specific job.

Job boundaries and Decision making:

• Material Engineer has the full authority to supervise the stores staff.
• Complete responsibility to maintain the stores in professional manner with regards to time, resources, safety and quality requirements.

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:
10 years experience in oil and gas, and related fields.

Skills:

• Conceptual thinking and strategic direction.
• Leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a multi cultural environment
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Good knowledge of international financial reporting standards.
• Computer literacy: MS windows applications, outlook as well as proficiency in Accounting applications.
