    Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative, the Project Chief Technical Advisor and the Project Manager and under the guidance and direct supervision of the Senior Administrative Assistant in coordination with the National PDS/R Administrative Coordinator

    The incumbent will be responsible for organizing logistical and daily emergency purchases and delivery of office supplies and materials and assists in providing logistics and general administrative support specifically:

    • Assess the programme’s supply needs and purchase required office supplies and materials in coordination and approval of the immediate supervisor;
    • Conduct periodic physical inventories of expendable and non-expendable goods and update the local inventory control record;
    • Supervises the delivery of incoming shipment to the warehouse; maintains inventory management and classification system; manages distribution of physical protection equipment (PPEs) and anigen kits to LDCC field offices and collects/files related documents;
    • Checks all supplies delivered and ensure that the supplies are appropriate and in accordance to the specification required, as indicated in the order form;
    • Assists in maintaining records of all deliveries of equipment, supplies and materials, ensuring that an efficient filing system of copies of records are kept;
    • In coordination with Senior Administrative Assistant, maintain a non-expendable equipment registry, ensure that it is updated on a regular basis and record all relevant information in relation to the use and return of any non-expendable equipment released to LDCCs or borrowed by the staff;
    • Conduct monthly monitoring of non-expendable and prepare and submit report to the immediate supervisor;
    • Responsible for the appropriate storage and maintenance of all non-expendable equipment in coordination with IT Support Assistant and technical staff for repairs and upkeep of the equipment;
    • Assists in maintaining updated copies of all LDCC field offices non-expendable equipment registry in coordination with National PDS/R Administrative Coordinator;
    • Provide logistic assistance in preparing and compiling training materials, etc.
    • Arrange and supervise equipment movements including dispatch and receipt of goods to and from project office in Menara Thamrin and all LDCC field offices as requested;
    • Arrange and supervise shipments of items using courier or postal services;
    • Provide follow up support for government related issues such as visa, PP19, etc. processes; and
    • Perform other related tasks as required.

    Action Contre la Faim started its activities in the country in 1998. Since then, it has operated in complex situations where a typical mix of local conflicts, communitarian tensions and natural disasters lead to food insecurity.

    Late 2006, decision was made to extend the ACF scope of intervention in Indonesia to tackle long term vulnerability and situations where access to basic needs and dignity is chronically under strain. An exploratory mission was then carried-out in Nusa Tengara Timur (NTT) province. Proposals were developed accordingly and approved for an implementation period starting in July 2007.

    The work is expected to be achieved in a maximum of 4 weeks (around 20 working days), and should start around early March 2008.

     Under the overall supervision of the Chief, TCEO, the general supervision of the FAO Representative for Indonesia and the overall operational supervision of the Emergency and Rehabilitation Coordinator, the technical supervision of the FAO Chief Technical Officer for Fisheries / Project Manager in Indonesia and in close cooperation with other Deputy Project Manager, the FAO international and national consultants in the Rehabilitation Support and Coordination Unit in Indonesia, government counterpart officials, national and provincial authorities and in coordination with other international and national actors, and the direct technical supervision of the FAO International Aquaculture Consultant, the National Consultant Aquaculture Specialist will
    1. Carry out duties as required/identified by the FAO International consultant Aquaculture Specialist and under the guidance of FAO-Emergency and Rehabilitation Unit Coordinator;
    Specifically, the Consultant will take the following tasks and responsibility to:

    •  Provide technical assistance to Tablolong government staff to ensure sustainable aquaculture production;
    •  Improve the systems and equipment of the Tablolong Aquaculture Centre to provide services to fishing communities;
    •  Strengthen the capacity of the Tablolong Aquaculture Centre to provide extension support to communities; and
    •  Provide material to communities to complete first cycle of cage grouper production.

    2. Maintain regular liaison with Cage Aquaculture farmer groups for a better management of cage aquaculture;
    3. Assist in finalizing, translating and publishing the FAO manual on better management practices for sustainable aquaculture in Kupang district;
    4. Translate the technical and non-technical documents, on aquaculture activities used in the project for training and other purposes from English to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa;
    5. Manage contractors undertaking in the rehabilitation and construction of Cage Aquaculture for fishers groups along the Bay of Kupang;
    6. Prepare annual work plans, and monthly activities plans and associated budgets for submission to the International Project Manager and his Deputy as required;
    7. Undertake monitoring and evaluation activities as detailed in work plans, and requested by the International Project Manager and the monitoring and evaluation project plan; and
    8. Perform any other related duties as required.
