Management of Georisks in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam: Job Vacancy

JOB INFO SUMMARY : Great job opportunity for professional that: Good knowledge of the English language, at least oral (active and passive); Good knowledge of databases and first experiences with SQL (MS Access and preferably knowledge of one ‘real’ database like PostgreSQL or Oracle); Good knowledge of web languages, at least HTML, CSS, some experience with Java Script; First experiences with Content Management Systems (CMS), preferably Joomla or Drupal; First working experiences with Linux Sever Software, preferably Ubuntu. The project ‘Management of Georisks in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam’ (ManGeo NAD) is part of the German –Indonesian technical cooperation. Partner institutions of the project are the National Geological Agency in Bandung, the Dinas Pertambangan dan Energi (Distamben) of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) on the Indonesian side and the Federal Institute for Geoscience and Natural Resources (BGR) on the German side.
The project is focusing in four areas :
1. Collection and preparation of geological base data for the reconstruction process.
2. Provision of technical information and expert knowledge for spatial planning institution.
3. Institutional strengthening of the partner, and as a comprehensive focus.
4. Awareness raising of the population of natural hazards and georisks.
In order to make information and results available internally (Intranet) and also to the public (Webbased) ManGeoNAD intends to hire one person as permanent staff for five months, 02/2009-06/2009
